Dr. Revathi Viswanathan will discuss Collaborative Teamwork in an Online Learning Environment- Possibilities and Challenges

Teamwork fosters collaboration and the use of various soft skills, which students need to cultivate while pursuing their studies. In this regard, teachers have a greater role to play as facilitators of learning. In other words, they need to create a learning environment that helps students to collaborate with their peers either within or beyond the classroom. Needless to say, language teachers most often encounter various challenges while attempting a new teaching methodology in their classrooms. In this presentation, the presenter would share her experiences in handling communication skills with the help of the Web 2.0 tool, Wiki with tertiary level students. She would also throw light on the possibilities of training students in soft skills and the challenges in making students work in an online learning environment.
