Can Social Networks support Learning Management - An analysis of the Facebook Group Design with Lenandlar Singh

Social Networks, and in particular Facebook have been discussed at length as adequate supplements and potential replacements for traditional learning management systems. How much of this is possible in reality? Do their designs support such speculations? This presentation will outline design features of a social network system - Facebook Groups and offer a comparison with typical learning management system features and functionalities. The objective of this presentation is to outline strengths and potentials of existing social networks and point to their limitations as learning management system replacements.
