Title of Presentation

Mahoodle: Moodle+Mahara = Mahoodle: Marriage for Lifelong Learning

About the Presentation

Think- create – collect – aggregate – reflect – organize – present – share- collaborate – network– all in a box –the MAHARA ePortfolio.

Mahara is a customisable and flexible ePortfolio system, closely connected to Moodle. It is the perfect personal learning environment mixed with social networking, allowing you to collect, reflect on and share your achievements and development online in a space you control.(www.mahara.org)

This presentation aims to explore how students can use an ePortfolio to actively showcase their learning by collecting artefacts on their achievements , building showcases for specific audience and sharing and presenting their pages. We will also discover the social networking site of MAHARA and the possibilities of peer feedback in MAHARA.

You will understand why Moodle + Mahara are a perfect learning setting if used together – though Mahara can also be used independently from an LMS. As both systems are customizable and flexible all kinds of learning settings can be supported by these tools.
